What should I do before my first appointment?

Before you can take a seat in the dental chair, you will need to fill out our new patient paperwork. You’re welcome to do this from the convenience of your home, or plan to arrive an extra 10-15 minutes early to fill them out in our office. If you plan on utilizing your dental benefits, please bring your insurance card and some form of I.D. with you as well. If you have any recent X-rays or other documents from a previous dentist that you would like us to have, we recommend requesting that they be sent to us as soon as possible.

How long will my first appointment take?

A routine dental visit usually takes anywhere from thirty minutes to one hour, but a first visit may take a bit longer. This is because we strive to get to know each patient on a personal level and ensure that we have the information we need to provide your family with the exceptional dental care that you deserve. We will also take X-rays and pictures of your smile to make sure that we have up-to-date digital imaging that we can reference now and in the future. Your appointment is time that is set aside specifically for you, so feel free to bring up any questions or concerns you may have as well!

My child is apprehensive about their first appointment, what can I do?

It’s perfectly normal for kids to be a little wary of visiting the dentist, especially if it’s a new office or doctor that they’re seeing. We always recommend that parents speak about dentistry in a positive light and provide dental-related books or toys for their kids to make dental care more of a familiar topic. If you think your child would benefit from taking a quick tour of our office prior to their first appointment, one of our friendly team members would be happy to show them around and answer any questions they may have.
