What are family block appointments?
Family block appointments allow entire households to receive all of the services they need in one convenient morning or afternoon, which reduces the number of trips to our office and the need to juggle multiple appointments. Simply let us know that you would like to schedule appointments for more than one family member at a time, and we will be happy to find a timeframe that works well for your family as well as our team. Any children who are not being treated must have an adult supervising them at all times while waiting in the lobby.
When should kids visit the dentist?
Children should visit the dentist for routine appointments at least twice per year, just like adults. Ideally, kids should have their very first dental visit scheduled around their first birthday or when their first tooth grows in, whichever happens first. We typically recommend that younger kids visit our office in the morning, as they tend to be fresh and more cooperative. Should your child ever complain of an unbearable toothache or experience a dental-related emergency, please give our office a call to schedule a same-day visit with our team.
What dental services do children need?
The services that children need vary from patient to patient, and we always create custom treatment plans for every patient who comes to see us. In addition to routine cleanings and exams, we recommend that parents schedule regular fluoride treatments for their kids, as fluoride can help prevent tooth decay and strengthen tooth enamel. Dental sealants are another excellent preventive service for kids, as they cover the top of each molar and help prevent harmful bacteria from collecting in the grooves of the teeth and causing cavities.
